Croatia helps Kosovo with 10,000 doses of vaccine

Croatia will help Kosovo with 10,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

The agreement to proceed with this assistance was signed yesterday by the Croatian Ambassador to Kosovo, Danijela Barisic, and officials from the Kosovo Ministry of Health.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, Minister Arben Vitia informed Ambassador Barisic about the progress of vaccination of priority groups according to the State Vaccination Plan, the way Kosovo institutions are coping with the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges in the health system during this time.

The announcement did not say when Kosovo will receive these vaccines and which manufacturers they are.

In Kosovo, vaccination is continuing in vaccination centers in different cities of Kosovo, where people over 65 years of age are being vaccinated, registered on the electronic platform eKosova and according to the lists available at the Main Family Medicine Centers. According to the Ministry of Health, as of May 20, over 55 thousand citizens have been immunized with vaccines donated by the World Health Organization and the European Union.

The state immunization plan is divided into three phases.

The first phase includes health workers, people over 80, residents of care homes and those with chronic diseases.

The second phase includes people aged 65-79, teachers and security forces involved in pandemic management.

Meanwhile, in the third phase, 50 percent of the population is expected to be vaccinated.
