During the meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albania, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi proposed that the elections for the new leader of the party be held on June 13.
This means that we have an approach to the election process within the largest opposition party as the current mandate of Lulzim Basha ends on July 22.
The proposal stipulates that the candidacies for the new leader be accepted by May 23rd and that the period from May 24th to June 11th be a campaign.
The Electoral Commission in the Democratic Party will be composed of Belind Kelliçi, Albana Vokshi, Enno Bozdo, Mimoza Hasekiu, Gjok Vuksani, Bert Avdyli and Jemin Gjana, where the latter will be the chairman.
The decision on this proposal is expected to be taken during the meeting of the National Council of the Democratic Party that will start at 07:00 pm.
