The successful Kosovar Albanian footballer woman Kosovare Asllani has been announced the best football player for April in Spain.
She has been praised for her performances over the past month, where she has contributed to the victories of Real Madrid and she scored three goals in four games.
"We are doing our best and our goal is to win all the remaining matches and maintain our position in the Champions League,"Asllani said.
She started her football dream at Vimmerby IF just 15 years old, left her mark and got the attention when she scored 48 times in 49 appearances. She has been considered as a miracle and now has a football field bearing her name at Vimmerby, established in 2018. Her excellent performances on the Vimmerby IF youth team enabled her a move to Linköpings FC in 2007, where she began her journey as a professional. Joining the club as a sensational teenager, it took her a season to find her position, but she soon became an essential part of the team and went on to help them win the championship and cup in 2009. This was Damallsvenskan (Swedish Women's League) first of Linköpings. This was then followed by a brief stint at ËPS in the US with the Chicago Red Stars. She made 13 appearances for them scoring twice. Asllani returned to Linköpings FC to play for them for the next 2 seasons also at UËCL. After a season at her hometown club Kristianstad DFF in 2011, she moved to PSG where her start to life at PSG was excellent and she scored 17 goals in 19 league appearances in her first season. In the next 2 seasons, she managed to score 20 goals in 34 league appearances.
Her next step was with Manchester City. She signed a 2-year contract with them in January 2016. Her stay at Manchester City saw her win the FA WSL, the Continental Cup and the FA Cup. She scored just 3 goals in 25 total appearances for the Blues with one against Lyon in the UËCL semi-finals. While the 28-year-old was winning trophies, she wanted to take her game to the next level.
2017 was the year of Kosse returning home, she returned to Sweden to play for Linköpings. She helped the team win another championship in 2017. The return proved beneficial to the player at the individual level. This appeared in the CV that followed, which was probably some of the best footballs she has played for Sweden.
What followed the 2019 World Cup was an eternal dream for her. Asllani joined Real Madrid (CD Tacón at the time) to help them start this new era, to build something special, to be one of the founding figures of the team. Made her debut for the national team in 2009 against Denmark and was included in the Euro 2009 squad. After being frozen by the squad for the 2011 FIFA WWC, she returned to the London Olympics and has since played a vital role in every major competition.
