 Sources for Euronews Albania, inform that within the security measures of the exercise "Defender 21" has been collected information about a citizen from Russia, who entered on May 12 at the border crossing point in Muriqan with a drone with him.

Vladislav Cherkasov has stated that his destination was the city of Durrës and this fact has increased the doubts about his entry into Albania.

He is one of two Russian citizens who have entered Albania, while the Tirana Prosecutor's Office has put him under investigation as a suspect for espionage.

The troops arrived from 26 countries, under the leadership of the Americans had training operations in the port of Durres, Kuçova air base, Berat, Zall-herr, Bize, Pashaliman and Farka air base.

Defender 21 training was defensive in nature and focused on preventing aggression while preparing our forces to respond to crises if necessary. This year, the focus of Defender Europe 21 was to build operational readiness and interaction with NATO and a greater number of allies and partners in a wider area of ​​operations.

Albania was one of the 16 countries where the multinational military exercise "Defender 21" took place. Our country was selected as other states because of its strategic location and the fact that it has been a valuable partner for the US.
