Albanian Special Prosecution demands the confiscation of the assets of the businessman Ylli Ndroqi

In Albania, the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime, known locally by the acronyms SPAK, announced today that has asked the Court to confiscate the assets of the entrepreneur and owner of Ora TV channel Ylli Ndroqi and his family members.

A year ago, his assets were seized after the SPAK announced that Mr. Ndroqi had been arrested in Turkey under the name Xhemal Pasmaçiu, as part of an international narcotics trafficking group, in 1998. According to the SPAK, Mr. Ndroqi also turns out to be an arrestee in February 2015 in Italy as an organizer of drug trafficking on behalf of a criminal group, as VOA reports.

In today's announcement, it is announced that there are 32 different assets that are required to be confiscated, including apartments, land, service units, vehicles, and shares in several companies.

The Special Prosecution explained that at the end of the verifications on these assets, comparing their value with the income earned legally, there is a difference of about 3 million euros uncovered from the declared income.

Mr. Ndroqi's lawyers have stated that SPAK has not respected the procedures as they have not been notified before about this decision, adding that the alleged difference does not stand and that they have full facts and arguments which they will present in court.
