US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim today held a meeting with the young man from Tropoja who a few days ago commented on her Instagram profile on her citizenship.
Last week, Fisart Imeraj made a comment on the "Albanian-Chinese friendship" that confused me. So I invited him for coffee. He accepted. "Today, we sat in an open environment on Sunday and ordered a very good coffee and talked about the comment, but also many other things", says Mrs. Kim.
Ambassador Kim says she talked to the young man about their origins, saying Fisart was from Tropoja, the country she fell in love with when she visited last month.
On the other hand, the diplomat says that her ancestors originated from mountainous areas in South Korea, but she herself grew up on a tropical island.
"I learned a little more about Albania's past and how Fisart showed me how Enver Hoxha and the communists tried to control everything - finances, trust, housing, employment - but they could never control people's souls.
We also talked about the challenges that Albanians face regularly and agreed that the rule of law and equality before the law are necessary for all Albanians, not only the elite can have dignified work, take care of their families, and fully contribute to the future of their country.
