The General Prosecutor's Office shared images on Twitter, as HE confirmed that the group was led by "an Albanian citizen" and that the 5 arrested will be extradited to the US.

Çerma was arrested along with William Cruz Pérez, Pedro Antonio Penagos Londoño, Jairo Fernando Cardona López and Edwin Durlandy Montilla González. Colombian police, who carried out the operation to stop him in collaboration with the US Anti-Drug Agency (DEA), found over 330 kilograms of cocaine and 2 billion pesos - about 450 thousand euros.

Authorities suspect Çerma had close ties to the infamous Clan del Golfo drug cartel, known as the paramilitary faction involved in several armed conflicts in Colombia.

The group allegedly bribed an air traffic controller to allow them to travel on Charter lines and that they operated in at least three cities.
