Italian media have uncovered the testimony of the wife of former Italian banker Giovanni Caramuscio who was executed last night by two Albanian brothers, while withdrawing money at an ATM.

Anna Quarta recounts the moments when two people shot with a Beretta-type pistol her husband, who immediately fell to the ground.

"I saw Giovanni fall to the ground. I ran towards him, tried to help him get up. But he was already dead. I was not believing it, and I still do not believe it," said the victim's wife.

She also testified that she told her husband to withdraw the money the next day. "Giovanni told me: 'Stop for a moment, I have to withdraw some money', while Anna replied: 'We do it tomorrow'. However Giovanni insisted and Anna was waiting for him near the car, not knowing what would happen next.

The security camera footage also showed the murder scene, where the two Albanian brothers were disguised in anti-Covid masks.

They threatened the former banker with a gun, as he reacted instinctively by pushing away one of them. But the reaction of the other was fatal, shooting him with a Beretta with 5 bullets, two of which ended up in the chest of the victim.

It is suspected that the Beretta caliber 9 pistol was fired by Paulin Mecaj. The same weapon was found by investigators at the home of the suspected perpetrator. The 69-year-old deceased was a formerly retired banker who had worked in Naples. He was shot on Friday night as he was returning home with his wife after a festive dinner with friends and relatives.
