Nine candidates are running for three vacant seats on the Constitutional Court on Albania

 There are nine candidates seeking to fill three vacancies on the Constitutional Court. For this, the tribunal has three vacancies to be filled by the Supreme Court.

The candidates who have expressed the desire to be part of the Constitutional Court are Albert Demirneli, Alket Jaupi, Dhimitrula Spiro, Ervin Karamuco, Helena Papa, Saimir Visha, Sander Beci, Vatë Staka, and Zhaklina Peto.

Names that have entered the competition will be sent to the Judicial Appointments Council for professional evaluation and legal criteria.

It will then be the members of the Supreme Court who will decide by secret ballot on the selection of the 3 new members of the Constitutional Court.

Currently, as a representative of the Constitutional Court is Vitore Tusha, but with a mandate completed in 2017.

The Constitutional Court, after becoming operational, considered a number of hot issues, including the clash between Prime Minister Rama and President Meta over the constitutional powers to appoint ministers, the demolition of the national theater and the lawsuit for the 2019 local elections, which were boycotted by the opposition.
