The Democratic Party of Albania announced this Sunday the winning list of members of the National Council.
The list shows that Edith Harxhi, who was one of the candidates for DP chairwoman, and Arben Ristani, former Secretary General of the DP, were not declared winners.
But, part of the list are well-known names such as Aldo Bumçi, Agim Baçi, Andi Lila, Asllan Dogjani, Jemin Gjana, Glauk Olldashi, Ahmet Prençi, Robert Budina and the journalist Orjela Nebiaj, who could not enter the parliament.
The list also includes the elected deputies of the Democratic Party, the current leader Lulzim Basha, the current members of the party leadership and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, former DP leaders Tritan Shehu, Eduart Selami and former President Bujar Nishani.
The 300 new members of the National Council of the Democratic Party were elected by the delegates of the National Assembly, in a process that took place yesterday at the Palace of Congresses of Tirana.
Also, 300 members will elect the new leader who will replace Bujar Nishani, as well as the close team of Lulzim Basha for the next 4 years.
According to the Statute, out of 300 names that have been published today, at least 90 must be women and girls and 45 other members of the DP youth forum.
