The United Arab Emirates released a double murder Albanian suspect

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have released Florenc Çapja, accused of ordering a double murder that took place about ten years ago in Elbasan.

Capja, 40, was detained in Dubai on May 27 this year, about a month after the SPAK declared him wanted.

A penitent confessed to SPAK his involvement in the murder of Gentian and Nezir Beqiri - father and son - on August 15, 2012. Florenc and his uncle, Ardian Capja, arrested, are accused of ordering revenge killings.

At that time, the Çapja family accused the Beqiri family of collaborating in the murder of Sokol Çapja, which took place in 2005.

This case turns out to have sparked a wave of revenge killings between the two families. Florenc and uncle Ardian Çapja have been threatened several times by assassinations.

For the murder of Gentian and Nezir Beqiri, the Albanian authorities have arrested in 2020 Klajdi Dokoli, who is in detention accused of being an accomplice.

Dokoli turns out to have recently sought the relief of the security measure from prison to house arrest with the argument that he suffers from an incurable disease. However, the Special Court rejected the request, even though it was accepted by the prosecution.
