The Albanian Armed Forces have a real chance to modernize with the fifth generation of SPIKE missiles, produced by "Eurospike" in Germany. If it possessed these missiles, Albania would line up with many of the Alliance countries in its use, increasing its prestige and defense capabilities.
SPIKE family missiles consist of several variants, all incorporated in the latest weapons technology, with extremely high precision and long-range
Some of the variants of SPIKE missiles were presented in Tirana by the representatives of the company "Eurospike".
Asked by News 24, the managing director of "Eurospike" Guenter Lauer said that they are promoting their combat products and that they have not officially received any formal request from the Albanian Ministry of Defense to equip the Albanian Armed Forces with such missiles.
But, has the Ministry of Defense shown interest in buying missiles of the "SPIKE" family until now?
"Currently we have not received any official request from the Albanian Ministry of Defense. We are here to market our products, we have approached several countries in the Balkans such as Slovenia or Croatia which is in fact our client. It is interesting that all Balkan countries have such systems. We started it from Albania, to see if your Armed Forces need this. We are trying to find out if anyone from the military will confirm this. "It is an opportunity for the Albanian Armed Forces to have this system in the future", - said during the interview in News 24, the managing director of "Eurospike", Guenter Lauer
SPIKE missiles, which are electro-optical, can be integrated into 45 different platforms such as armored vehicles, helicopters and warships, but can be easily transported by infantry as the weight goes up to several kilograms. Redirecting the course towards the target is one of the strongest points.
