50,000 undeclared euros are seized in Muriqan, 31-year-old Albanian being prosecuted at large

 Muriqan Border Police has seized 50,000 undeclared Euros and prosecuted their possessor.

We recall that near Muriqan a jointly managed border crossing point with Montenegro is situated.

Thus, the Border Police services have crossed to the second line for more detailed control of an Audi-type vehicle. During the control exercised in the Audi-type vehicle driven by the citizen B. M. 31 years old, resident in Tirana, the Police services found hidden in a suitcase 50.000 Euros, which the citizen B. M. had not declared. The amount of money was seized as material evidence.

At the end of the first actions carried out by the specialists of the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Shkodra, the citizen B.M. was prosecuted at large for the criminal offense "Failure to declare at the border of money and valuables" and materials forwarded to the Prosecution for further action.

According to the law in Albania, it is not allowed to cross the border with more than 10,000. Or vice versa, any amount above this limit must be declared accompanied by the relevant documents that justify that amount.
