Afghan political migrants will be sheltered in the dormitories of "Student City" in Tirana

A part of the Afghans who will come to Albania in the framework with the USA agreement, are expected to be sheltered in the dormitories of the "Student City" in Tirana.

Students have started coming out from those buildings, which are getting ready to receive citizens from Afghanistan, Euronews Albania reports.

Political migrants fled the country after the Taliban took control of most of Afghanistan.

The students were notified last night by the caretakers that they must leave the rooms within two days. Student accommodation is expected to take place in other buildings, which currently have free capacity.

Some of them did not welcome the order to move from the dormitories.

There are even some who say that they were notified late about the decision, which forces them to leave the dormitories.

It is previously reported that about 250 political emigrants from Afghanistan will arrive in Albania within this week.

Diplomatic sources said that the first group of Afghans to be sheltered in the country are translators and collaborators of various levels of US structures in Afghanistan.

They will arrive in Albania with their families, while a special cabinet minister of the Rama government will take special care of their accommodation and accommodation procedures.
