According to the Institute of Statistics of Albania, Albania has about 10% of trade exchanges with the region and its main partner is Kosovo with 220 million euros of exports per year.
According to data from Kosovo we have a positive balance with 164 million euros more, while from Serbia we receive more goods and the balance is negative with 134 million euros less.
The close relations and a series of agreements between the governments of Albania and Kosovo have brought economic advantages that are also reflected in the figures with the building materials, metals, fuels, and food that we exchange. On the other hand, Serbia brings to Albania food, tobacco, minerals, construction materials, and metals.
Meanwhile, with North Macedonia, the import exports are in balance.
The mini-Schengen pact with North Macedonia and Serbia is expected to bring changes in the import-export map, creating disadvantages for Kosovo which refuses to become a member.
