Albanian heroes in Greece and France, win against fire and water

 As the flames continue to engulf the forests for the ninth day on the island of Evia, television cameras uncover incessantly the silent heroes of this modern Greek tragedy.

The man of the day is an Albanian emigrant living in the village of Pefki who was threatened several times these days and is now almost flattened. His Greek friends call him Apostolis, but his real name is Astrit, today all of Greece thanks "brother Astrit", sure that from now on they will call him by his short name.

Many residents have fought and are struggling these days with flames in many areas of Greece to save their properties, homes and everything else valuable even when it looked like they would lose the battle. Just as Astrit's attempt to extinguish the fire that was approaching the houses in Evia remains extremely shocking, still using only a tree branch.

As seen in the video below, he also climbs the barbed wire fence and with a broken tree branch, struggling to extinguish the flames, gaining enough time for the firefighters to arrive on the scene and extinguish the flames.

Speaking on the private Channel "Open", Astrit referred to his act, saying that "I felt that our house, everyone's property was burning and I went inside". "I felt at home, I have been here for 29 years and I did my best to put out the fire. We got to the last point and I said we need to be saved. I feel I have an obligation to this country," he said in an original manner.

But Astrit is not the only Albanian hero of today.

A 4-year-old child, of Algerian origin, but living in France, was recently rescued by an Albanian man as he was in danger of drowning.

The serious incident happened on Monday, around 18:45, in the beach area corresponding to the Piazzetta Casabianca al Mare, where the 4-year-old escaped the attention of his parents and plunged into the sea.

According to French media, it is learned that the 40-year-old Albanian, as soon as he saw the minor who was in trouble, came in to save him.

"The parents were a few meters away and they did not understand what was happening. "So I took the baby in my arms and with the help of a lady I pulled her ashore," he said.

As soon as he came ashore immediately the rescue forces intervened to calm the minor who had been drinking too much water.
