Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Edi Rama, thanked Albania for its readiness to shelter Afghan refugees.
A statement issued Thursday by State Department spokeswoman Ned Price said that in a conversation on Wednesday, "The Secretary and the Prime Minister discussed the offer of NATO ally Albania to temporarily accept Afghans in need...Secretary Blinken also thanked Prime Minister Rama for continuing the proud tradition of Albania for housing people in need."
