He held a meeting with the US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, the US Embassy announced today.
"The United States Embassy is pleased to welcome in Albania the former FBI Special Surveillance Agent and the new adviser to the National Bureau of Investigation of Albania (known locally with the acronym SPAK), Steve Butler," the US Embassy said in a statement.
"The U.S. Embassy is pleased to welcome former FBI Supervisory Special Agent and new NBI Advisor Steve Butler to Albania. Ambassador Kim met with Steve to welcome him to the team and to discuss our continuing support of the essential work of SPAK to investigate and prosecute corruption and organized crime through training, capacity-building, equipment, and advisory expertise.", US Embassy in Tirana writes on social networks.
Albania is among the most corrupt countries in Europe according to various statistics and reports.
