Sunday is the culmination of the Bektashi pilgrimage to Mount Tomor. Thousands of believers become part of the Pilgrimage to the Holy Feast which began on August 18 and will continue until August 25.
Every year, about 300-400 thousand pilgrims from all over Albania, the diaspora, and the world visit the Kulmak Tekke.
Bektashi world leader Edmond Brahimaj, hoping that the days of the pandemic will come to an end, wished all the believers to have peace and love among each other the day before.
Religious rites of the feast are performed in the Tekke of Kulmak and near the tomb of Abaz Ali, where every pilgrim prays for health, goodness, and peace in their families. As a sign of kindness, they sacrifice a lamb for themselves and their family.
Believers set up their tents in this holy place performing not only the feast but also climbing on foot the top of Mount Tomor, which is 2416 meters above sea level.
