Albania has received 230 million euros for fighting the pandemic, Ursula von der Leyen said

 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that Albania has received 230 million euros in pandemic recovery aid during a joint conference with Prime Minister Rama.

The region has received 3.3 billion euros in pandemic aid, with grants and funding.

According to von der Leyen, the most include medical equipment and complete recovery packages.


The President of the EC encouraged the citizens to be vaccinated while assessing as good news the recognition of the anti-COVID certificate of Albania by the EU.

Regarding European investments in Albania, von der Leyen said that an additional 600 million euros of aid will be suggested for our country this year, in addition to the current aid that Albania has benefited from 500 million euros.

"We will work for the rehabilitation of the railways of Durrës and Tirana with that of Podgorica, as well as we will rehabilitate Fierza," the EC president said.
