A statement by former Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia Ljubčo Georgievski has caused a stir on social networks and several portals.
This happened due to a statement by Ljubco Georgievski in an interview for Kanal 5 television given years ago where he spoke about the history of Skopje and other cities in Macedonia, adding that history proves that a part of Northern Macedonia was Dardania, with Skopje as the capital.
"From the historical-territorial point of view of this country, we must tell the truth and the picture of today's Macedonia as it was. Bitola and Ohrid have been inhabited by Illyrians, Eastern Macedonia was more Thracian, Northern Macedonia, Skopje and most of it is Dardanian. Skopje has been a Dardans city for a thousand years and for a long time it has been the capital of Dardania. Most of Macedonia has been Peonia," Georgievski said among other things.
