Valuable research on Albanian ethnology on Kosovo Albanian performers and musicians conducted at the beginning of the century by the well-known Slovenian ethnologist Matija Murko, who toured the Albanian lands in Kosovo in the 1930s, has recently been published.

Through photographs, he has documented artistic groups, performers, singers of that time, etc.

Matija Murko is considered one of the greatest Slovenian scholars of the last century.

In the 1930s, Murko and his wife toured almost all of the former Yugoslavia. As a researcher of epic, song, tradition, and ethnology, he also visited Kosovo, documenting through photographs the persons known for the interpretations of epic songs, but also the first ensembles.

In one of the photos is also Ymer Riza, the legend of Albanian traditional music.
