Nebojsa Stefanovic while meeting Serb soldiers in the border with Kosovo |
"Our army does not provoke, but it is ready to protect people if something happens that endangers their lives. It is important for me to see that these soldiers are prepared and ready. "The equipment we bought is in the right hands and very professional," said Nebojsa Stefanovic, Serbia's defense minister.
This came after reports that the situation has become tense. "We have a situation where three Serbs were mistreated and beaten in Brnjak by Kosovo's special units," said Goran Rakic, Kosovo's minister for communities.
Despite the Kosovo police denying such a thing, the reactions from Belgrade have been swift. It is even warned that the army is awaiting an order from President Aleksandar Vucic to act.
"The violence against the Serbs is a disaster. President Vuçiç was right when he said that this would happen. This was part of an organized campaign."
