The cover of 'The Wrong Place' in Greek language and Gazmend Kapllani |
The news was announced by the writer and journalist Kapllani himself, who wrote on Facebook that he could not wait to travel to Athens to see the show.
In his new novel, the main character, Karl, closely resembles him. He is also the Albanian, who after many vicissitudes, ends up from Greece to America. Suddenly, the death of his father, a senior member of the communist system, forces him to return to his hometown, Ters, an imaginary Albanian city.
The meeting with his brother, Frederick, who remains loyal to his homeland and the traditions that the dissident Karl has long denied, is a good chance for writer Gazmend Kapllani to touch again his favorite topics: identity, homeland, freedom, immigration.
In particular, the theme of immigration tends to become a primary issue in his works. We asked him if his impressions of emigration risked, in the end, capturing his talent only on a certain subject, turning his works into monotonous ones.
