TIFF, the first international film festival and the only one of its kind in Albania, was established in 2003 and is one of the most important cinematographic events in the Balkans.
The founder and at the same time the director of TIFF, Agron Domi, said that this year there was about 40% more participation compared to previous years.
"We selected among about 3000 films, it was impossible to imagine because we came from a period of isolation. The directors had found opportunities, inspiration to make films. In June it was 40% more than in normal years. This gave me an impetus that this edition will take place", said Agron Domi.
This year, 118 countries from all over the world are competing in the film festival in front of a professional jury that is present in Tirana. In addition to the award-winning "premiere" films that will be shown indoors at the Millennium Cinema, will also be shown outdoor films online.
One of the most interesting programs of this edition is Un-Dogmatic, masterpieces from the Danish cinema of directors Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg, which will be shown outside the Millennium cinema.
Also, during the festival, there will be forums and discussions about the films in the presence of the directors, actors, and organizers of the festival.
