On the night between Wednesday and Thursday of last week, respectively around 3:00 am, in the city of Nancy in France, a person was shot dead by a firearm.
The victim, in this case, was a 33-year-old man from Kosovo.
The media in France reported on this case, declaring as the main suspect for this murder his partner, who had given vague statements about the event before the justice authorities.
However, the Prosecution of the Republic of Nancy on Saturday announced that the 13-year-old son of the victim has been detained for this murder, France Bleu reports.
He is suspected of killing his father with a bullet in the head.
According to initial data, the event occurred as a result of the marital problems of the couple. The defendant, his brother and their mother told police that the 33-year-old had consumed a lot of alcohol that night and then hit his wife.
"It was at this moment that the 13-year-old boy, the eldest of the couple's five children, went to get his father's weapon. He entered the kitchen where his father was and shot with a gun, hitting his father on the head," explained François Perain, Nancy city prosecutor.
The victim, who had no previous record of violence, the prosecutor said, died the same day at Nancy Hospital.
The 13-year-old had then fled with his brother and was walking around Nancy town for a while trying to hide the murder weapon, before surrendering to police the next day.
Their mother, who was also in custody, also confessed that her son was the perpetrator of the murder, a version confirmed by their 7-year-old daughter, who had also witnessed the event.
