Eglantina Bajrami while speaking and parents of autistic children in the background |
Eglantina Bajrami, Member of the National Club of Parents with autism spectrum, says to local media that cases when 1 single teacher deals with 10 children of the autism spectrum, it is unaffordable.
"It is a teacher who deals with 10 students with disabilities, which she can not afford. They are minimal requirements and have no cost as long as the contracts are periodic and individual. The teacher is for 5 or 7 children, one hour in two days that is not enough at all ", said Eglantina Bajrami.
Their high number and lack of specialized teachers in this field is one of the main points of the petition.
"Teachers should be placed in all schools in the country for students with this spectrum, the support teacher should have special education, the number of working hours should be increased and where there is a lack of staff, so teachers should be added in the special school", said Eglantina Bajrami.
Parents point out that it is impossible to get private therapists as the costs are too high.
"I want the teachers to return to help the school, to increase the number of hours spent in the classroom. Because it is his right to go to school, and the task that the teacher does is not done by the parent. I am 24 hours with my son. 45 minutes a day costs 15 thousand leks per session, from Monday to Friday it is needed", said a parent.
