As in many capitals of the world, also in the Czech capital, Prague, there will be a "Skanderbeg" square. After Budapest, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj has also visited Prague, after the latest decision of the Municipal Council of this city to give one of the main squares the name of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
The news was announced by the mayor Veliaj himself after the meeting with the mayor of Prague Zdenek Hrib.
"It is always a pleasure to meet the mayor of Prague, my friend Zdenek Hrib. Like many capitals of the world, Prague will have a square named "Skanderbeg", in honor of our national hero! "Thanks to Zdenek and the Prague City Council for the initiative", Veliaj
writes on Facebook.
Three months ago, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj inaugurated in Budapest together with his counterpart, Gergely Karácsony, the bust of our hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg in the Central Park of the Hungarian capital. The bust, a gift from the Municipality of Tirana for the city of Budapest, was placed in front of the memorial of his contemporary, the hero of Hungary, Janos Hunyadi.
