Albanian author Shqipe Sylejmani book promoted at the Kosovo Consulate in New York

 The book "Burden and Blessing" by Shqipe Sylejmani was promoted at the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York.

Ambassador Isufaj congratulated Mrs. Sylejmani for her talent in writing. She described her first book as a proof of the long-term journeys of the Albanian Diaspora around the world, about which journey everyone has a story to tell.

Mrs. Sylejmani, in the presence of the book-loving audience, read some selected pieces of story especially for the Albanian Diaspora in New York. The anecdotes, stories and myths interpreted were the best evidence of the discovery of the life traces of characters from Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Macedonia, who always longed for their relatives and their countries.

"It is a special honor to publish my book in New York and to have these flags behind me, but all of them, infinitely thankful for the community that shared this evening with us, full of positive energy and love," said Ms. Sylejmani.

Shqipe Sylejmani was born in 1988 in Prishtina, Kosovo, but has lived in Switzerland since he was 4 years old. She studied journalism and communication in Zurich where she later worked as a journalist in Switzerland and New York. Since 2018, she has been involved in cultural promotions and is the president of the association "Kulturwerkstatt: Techno". In her first book, the novel ‘Burden and Blessing’, she looks back on her migration experience and travels to her homeland.
