In Kukës, the owners of lands flooded by the waters of Lake Fierza, warn of the start of protests after the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, for the involvement of the country in the energy crisis.

The President of the Association of Flooded Land Owners, Sherif Kastrati, said that the statement of Prime Minister Rama is a bomb not only for families who have flooded land from Fierza but for all residents of the Kukes region. He called on the government to be careful with the people of Kukes, who are getting poorer every day.

"We are impoverished by the state because this country has the greatest assets. We warn that all the people of Kukës will be all on their feet", says Kastrati.

More than 3 thousand families were affected by land floods after the construction of the Fuerza hydropower plant. Today only 350 of them have been compensated, moving them to Durrës and Lushnjë. Meanwhile, other families after more than 20 years still hope for compensation of their own.
