 Gledis Nano has been appointed the new director of the state police. Nano previously held the post of head of Antiterror.

Gledis Nano, one of the officials with great international support especially from the United States of America, as the head of Counter-Terrorism in the State Police was involved in the issue of repatriation of the relatives of the Albanian ISIS fighters in Syria.

Not long ago, the United States Embassy hosted a ceremony honoring Gledis Nano as Ambassador Yuri Kim honored him with the award of special merit appreciation and assistance to the embassy security staff.

Ardi Veliu, General Director of the State Police resigned yesterday. In a letter to the head of government, Edi Rama, Veliu said that his resign from office was for personal reasons. Veliu held the position of police chief for about 4 years.
