 Prime Minister Edi Rama has visited in Egypt, the mosque and the tomb of Muhammad Ali, the Albanian who is admired as the father of the modern Egyptian state.

"Cairo, Egypt - Visit to the mosque and tomb of Muhammad Ali, the Albanian who is admired all day today as the father of the modern Egyptian state," Rama wrote.

During the visit, he was accompanied by the government cabinet and his counterpart Moustafa Madbouly.

"It is known as the fortress of Muhammad Ali. He was Albanian and we consider him the founder of the new Egypt. The mosque was built in memory of Osman Pasha, his son. The mosque is in the same style as the Ottoman mosques. The architect of this mosque is from Istanbul. This construction is an exchange of influences from Turkey in Ottoman times. The mosque is a reference point of Cairo. We have up to 5,000 tourists a day," said Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly.

The head of the Albanian government was received with a state ceremony by the authorities during his visit to Egypt. Rama was also received at the meeting by the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Moustafa Madbouly.

Albania and Egypt signed today in Cairo three cooperation agreements in the field of culture.

The Albanian delegation accompanying Prime Minister Rama on his visit to Cairo also includes the Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, and the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti.
