Eight international productions are competing for the "Die TILDA" award at the ‘Braunschweig International Film Festival’, among them two Albanian films.
The prize of the film for women, endowed with 5,000 euros, was donated by 65 women from the cultural life of Braunschweig. The purpose of the award is to make the women of the films visible in their diversity. And it has to do with diversity in every aspect - both in terms of genre, type of narrative and stories told, as well as the directors themselves, because the internationally announced director award is aimed at women of all backgrounds, sexual orientation, skin color, etc.
The films in the competition are:
(1) "Clara Sola" tells the story of a healer who escapes the oppressive limitations of her mother and comes to know herself.
(2) Seyran Ateş: Sex, Revolution and Islam - 2021 - Documentaries show Seyran Ateş's personal and ideological struggle for the modernization of Islam.
(3) "Delia Derbyshire: Myths and Legendary Cassettes," tells the story of a pioneer of forgotten music, whose cassettes (recorded with the music theme by Doctor Who!) Were found in the attic after her death.
(4) The driver's wife The Molly Johnson legend has to do with Molly being very pregnant, who does not let herself go down to her farm on the outskirts of Australia.
(5) "The hill where the lionesses scream" is the story of three powerful young women, written by a director who is only 18 years old.
(6) In "Hive" (Wake up) the widow Fahrije in Kosovo rebels against the norms of her society - she drives a car and runs a company.
