The symbolic raising of the Albanian flag in many cities in the world where Albanians live is now becoming a tradition. Even this November 28, the municipality of Chicago has respected the Albanian community by raising the national flag.
"The City of Chicago raised the National Flag this morning to limit the number of people at Daley Plaza because of anti-covid measures and the ChrisKindl market.
The flag will stay raised until 5 pm (local time)" it is said in the announcement of the Albanian Community in Illinois.
While also in front of the Parliament of Ontario, thus continuing the tradition of more than ten years of this ceremony. This year the event was held in honor of the 109th anniversary of Albania's Independence, and the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the law that declared November the Albanian Heritage Month in Ontario.

The ceremony was attended by dozens of Albanians who were greeted by members of the Ontario Parliament and Government, representatives of the consular body in the province, as well as community members and representatives of Albanian associations operating in Ontario.
Given that we are in a pandemic time, the ceremony, unlike other times, took place on working days, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Government of Ontario for the further non-spread of the virus.
