Mother Teresa's friendship with Pope John Paul II is not unknown. The respect and relationship that these two world-renowned figures had was admired by many. It happened that in public they also broke the communication protocols with a not very formal communication, as is the case in question, published in the first September issue of the magazine "Miracoli e Misteri".

"The day that Mother Teresa made Pope John Paul II wait"

Mother Teresa and Pope Wojtyla have met on many occasions, but there is a meeting that shows how simple a man she was and how truly the Holy Spirit was present in her.

She was driving to New Delhi to meet the Holy Father when she noticed a sick leper on the side of the road. Mother Teresa asked the driver to stop, got out, and started caring for the leper. She talked to him for a long time to comfort him. He then resumed the journey and arrived late to meet with the Pope.

When one of the Indian cardinals present pointed out that she had made him wait for the Holy Father, she calmly replied, "Yes, I know, but I had a meeting with Christ on the street."

Mother Teresa wentto Paradise on September 5, 1997, and on October 19, 2003, Pope John Paul II proclaimed her blessed. At the beginning of the sermon he wanted to emphasize his personal gratitude to Mother Teresa with whom he had a deep friendship:

Mother Teresa in the words of Pope John Paul II:

(…) The brave woman I have always felt close to me. The icon of the Good Samaritan, she went everywhere to serve Christ to the poorest of the poor. Neither conflicts nor wars could stop her.
