The Ministry of Justice announced yesterday that a quantity of about 50 grams of cocaine was seized, which was hidden inside a balloon. The girl, together with her family, was going to meet her father, citizen Gazmend Ilazi, who is in the detention cells of the Kukes Police Directorate.
“During the procedural actions of the meetings (physical control) between family members and persons in conflict with the law in the Kukës Penitentiary Institution, a quantity of white powder (about 50 grams) suspected as cocaine was seized. The cocaine was found inside a balloon, inside the sweatshirt of the 9-year-old daughter of the detainee G.I ", explained the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Justice also clarified that the Internal Control Service, the State Police, and the Prosecution have been notified for further actions and investigations. This is one of the rare cases in our country when minors of this age are used as drug transporters. It is not yet known what resulted in the arrest of the person in detention, who would be given the narcotics. Further investigations will also reveal the involvement of other persons in this activity. During this year were discovered several cases of attempted entry of narcotics into prison cells. A 67-year-old man who tried to smuggle drugs into the prison premises in Durrës was arrested in February.
At that time, the citizen with the initials K. R., had gone to the premises of the Durrës Penitentiary Institution, to introduce some food products for his son, who is in detention. During the control, the police seized two doses of heroin and two doses of cannabis stativa.
Police clarify that the citizen K. R., was not aware of the narcotic products found in the bag, as they were placed without his knowledge by the citizen M. N., a relative of theirs. Meanwhile, a guard was arrested the same month after allowing narcotics into the cells of the Fushë Krujë prison. According to the official announcement, the guard with the initials B.M., 28 years old, from the village of Luz in Kruja, was putting drugs in prison.
