After the fantastic results of the two Albanian weightlifters Briken Çalja and Erkand Qerimaj in the international arena, the international federation decided that the World Weightlifting Championship for young people will take place in Tirana.

It was the website of the Albanian Weightlifting Association that announced the big news while emphasizing that they have already started organizing.

The event is scheduled to take place in 2023 and hundreds of barbell talents will land in Albania for one of the most important activities.

It all happened yesterday, at the meeting of the Executive Board of the World Weightlifting Federation (IWF), which was held in Uzbekistan. The head of FSHP, Elez Gjoza was also present. Now it remains only to formalize the dates of the activity, but what matters is the fact that Albania will host an event of world-class weightlifting, namely the most successful sport in the country in the international arena, which has brought many European and World medals.

Meanwhile, the President of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, Elez Gjoza, during his stay in Tashkent was received by the President of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, where he received a title of gratitude for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Albania will also host the Electoral Assembly of the World Federation which is expected to be held in April next year.
