Albania will lend electricity to Kosovo during the two days of the New Year

 The Government of Albania has decided to lend electricity to Kosovo on December 31 and January 1.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced that 7680 megawatts of energy will be given to Kosovo in the form of a loan, which will be returned during the summer season.

"Prime Minister Edi Rama has left a special message today regarding the facing of the energy crisis in the Republic of Kosovo on December 31 and January 1. Here in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, we have engaged all human resources, our specialists, together with the specialists of the Electricity Corporation to find a solution and to supply Kosovo in these important days", said Minister Balluku.


"After an agreement, we had with the leaders of the Kosovo Electric Power Corporation, we managed to provide a total of 7680-megawatt/hours which will be given in the form of deposit, without any financial effect for Kosovo, seeking to be given back to Albania during the season Summer, when our water conditions start to become difficult. This deposit that will be delivered within this month in Kosovo, we will ask to be returned to us during the Summer, from June to September", she said.
