Member of the Central Council of the URA Movement in Montenegro, Ilir Harasani said to Euronews Albania that the URA is leading efforts to create a new minority government supported by pro-Western parties.

This strategy, backed by US envoy Gabriel Escobar, is expected to end the destructive role of the pro-Serbian Democratic Front party, which the URA currently has as allies in the coalition.

Harasani said that in the agreement for the formation of the new government, out of 7 political representatives, 4 are Albanians and in these circumstances, he did not rule out the possibility that the Prime Minister of Montenegro will be an Albanian, for the first time.

"With the agreement, we made a week ago, I think it is a good step towards the future and the formation of a new government, of which all nationalities are part. Of the 7 signatories, we have Serbs, Montenegrins, Bosniaks, and Albanians. From that agreement 4 are Albanians. In this case, Albanians are given the opportunity to have at least 2 ministries and the prime minister will probably be Albanian, which is a great achievement", said Harasani.

The member of the Central Council of the URA Movement said that there is confusion and disagreement within the majority. According to him, this was expected as the coalition allies have different ideologies.

"It is a confusing situation, in the majority and in the entire Montenegrin parliament. "After a year and a few months from the formation of the government, we have a dispute between the majority," he said.
