He is Emiliano Domi - he pierced his mother in the back with a kitchen knife.
Police have arrested the 25-year-old after he tried to escape after the crime.
The circumstances that led to the 54-year-old's injury are still unknown, but local media say that she was suddenly attacked from behind.
She is out of life danger.
The suspected perpetrator worked as a cashier in a store and has a history of violence in his past.
