The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a person "Non Grata" a Russian official working in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, UNMIK.

The news was communicated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla.

"At the request of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today I have issued the decision to declare Non-Grata a Russian UNMIK official in Kosovo because of his harmful activity, which has violated the national security of the Republic of Kosovo. At the same time I have notified the law enforcement institutions and the relevant authorities for the implementation of this decision," she wrote.

"The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo remain placed in the battle against the malignant influence of the Russian Federation and its satellite representatives in the region, who intend to undermine Kosovo's achievements and our partners, that of the United States, NATO -S and the EU," said the Minister.

This is the second time this year that Kosovo declares "Non-Grata" Russian officials. On October 22, two officials of the Russian Federation Liaison Office in Pristina were announced in Kosovo for activities that violate national security and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.

Russia has opened a liaison office in Pristina since 2005.
