Sunday Times has dedicated an article to Albania, emphasizing the relations between Prime Minister Edi Rama and his counterpart Boris Johnson.

"Albania is already strongly pro-Western at a time when in the Balkans, Russia and China are using the EU negligence in their favor, in this troubled region."

Taking into account this position of Albania, it is said in the article, Great Britain sees Edi Rama as the man with whom can increase its investments in Albania, a NATO country.

In a statement to the Sunday Times, Edi Rama says he has a good relationship with Boris Johnson.

The British Prime Minister, a few weeks ago appointed Sir Stuart Peach, a former senior military leader in NATO as the special envoy for the Balkans.

The paper compares the clear pro-Western position of Tirana with that of Belgrade flirting with Russia, emphasizing that:

"Serbia has recently applied for EU membership, but at the same time bought bombers and tanks from Russia."

Moscow, through its ally in Serbia, is suspected of trying to destabilize Kosovo, an EU aspirant, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, another pro-European country.

I think that the situation in the Western Balkans, says Minister of Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka, is more insecure than that of the past 20 years.
