The Criminal Court of Tirana has imposed the measure of arrest in prison for the three arrested for 119 kilograms of cocaine seized by the 'Banana King shpk' company.
The two drivers and the administrator of the company were introduced to the security measure today.
119 kilograms of cocaine were seized by the Police during action on December 30 in Romanat, Durrës.
The narcotics were found inside a truck transporting a container loaded with bananas, of the company ‘Bana King’, from the port of Durrës to a warehouse in Vaqarr.
Police had detained 3 people: Gëzim Kalaja and Hasan Salihu, drivers of the company, as well as Marson Murataj, the administrator of an import-export company with Latin American countries.
The investigation showed that the container was transited to a port in Italy, where the Italian law enforcement authorities found the lack of a seal, therefore they exercised control and found a lack of boxes with bananas.
The container then arrived at the port of Durres and after customs clearance and control operations on the scanner was found clean and left the port, destined for the company's warehouses on the outskirts of the city of Tirana.
