There are about 2 thousand Albanians in Switzerland who will benefit from the agreement signed a few minutes ago by the Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Health and Social Protection of Switzerland, Alain Berset in the field of social defense between the two countries

"We have just signed a very important agreement with the Swiss government in the field of social protection which confirms once again the will of the two governments for further cooperation. Over the years, Albanians living and working in Switzerland have had a problem, the recognition of pensions and the recognition of years of work, ie social security. There are about 2 thousand Albanians who based on this agreement will benefit from the recognition of years of pensions. With the signing of this agreement, some bureaucratic procedures of approving the agreement in the parliaments will start. Both sides will work to approve it in the shortest possible time, in both parliaments and get the approval of the Presidents. Only at that moment this agreement will be active and all persons will benefit from its benefits" said Ibrahimaj.

While Berset expressed the pleasure of the visit to Tirana, He said: I am happy that today we will expand bilateral relations through the signing together with Minister Ibrahimaj the social security agreement. This agreement fully respects international standards and brings significant benefits to both countries. These negotiations took place in an extremely excellent atmosphere and I would like to thank both respective delegations for the excellent cooperation which led to the establishment of the social security agreement and the administrative arrangements governing its implementation. I am confident that this agreement is comprehensive and creates a basis for cooperation between the two countries and our administrations regarding social security and they are also confident that this brings positive changes for our citizens and economic exchanges between our countries.
