Ancient Illyrian city of Bylis transformed into Greek one by an Italian with Albania's Ministry money, Archaeologist claims

A document put to use by the Ministry of Culture, drafted by an Italian archaeologist employed by the Albanian ministry brings out the that Bylis was an ancient Greek city.

We remind that according to many reliable sources Byllis (Greek: Βύλλις; Albanian: Bylis; Latin: Byllis) or Bullis or Boullis (Βουλλίς) was an ancient city and the chief settlement of the Illyrian tribe of the Bylliones.

This is what the well-known Albanian archaeologist Neritan Ceka is continuing to say and denounce the abuse that according to him is being done with the funds of 6 million euros given by the EU for Bylis and the impact will have on the region in cultural tourism.

There are two arguments used by the archaeologist from Bologna to come to this conclusion, according to Ceka

“One is the mentality; for a westerner every theater is Greek. This has also inspired the Italian archaeologist that seeing theater means it was built by the Greeks. And second, it's the easiest thing. We have proposed a modern museum with objects of antiquity. For what comes from Bologna this is not conceived, as it calls us archaic. He says that Bylis was built by the Greeks and therefore he does not agree to build a museum, but an environment where you see films with Greeks..., where you are Albanians and all that suddenly becomes Greeks", said Ceka.

According to the archaeologist, the project was stopped thanks to the denunciation of the Albanian Institute of Archeology that returned back that document.
