The chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania (DPA), Lulzim Basha, signed the decommunization form on the day that coincides with the 31st anniversary of the fall of the bust of dictator Enver Hoxha.

In his speech from Skanderbeg Square, Basha apologized to the former political persecuted for the unfinished processes against them by the political force he leads.

The leader of the Democrats said that he would send this legal initiative to the legal assembly to stop the discourse of the dictatorship and the use of the symbols of communism in public.

"A deep apology on behalf of the DPA, the party that was born from the aspirations for freedom and democracy, addressed to the politically persecuted for the processes not fulfilled by us. This petition forces us as the DPA to take to the parliament the legal initiative to stop the dictatorship from being lectured and the use of the symbols of communism in public. Vetting of officials in relation to the past during the regime as a condition for cleaning the administration", said Basha.

This initiative also aims to find the remains of the missing during the communist period and to compensate the people who suffered during that period.

We remind that Albania has gone through one of the harshest communist dictatorships in the world, where a good part of Albanians have been killed and massacred by communist Albanians..
