Greece was shocked yesterday by a serious event, where an Albanian woman threw her grandson and granddaughter, 3 and 5 years old respectively, from the second floor of the balcony. The event shocked the entire public opinion, while this Saturday the foreign media reported new details about the situation.
The 37-year-old Albanian is learned to have suffered from mental health problems. Before the serious incident, the 37-year-old visited her 42-year-old sister.
The two sisters argued with each other for reasons that are still unknown and then the 37-year-old threw her grandson and granddaughter from the balcony, then jumped herself.
The children's mother was cooking while the father was at work. After throwing them from the balcony, she through on them flower vases and then jumped herself. Shocked neighbors and mothers rushed to the sidewalk to help the children.
The two minors cried in horror, shouting, “My aunt threw us off the balcony. Our aunt hit us." The children were transferred to the Athens Children's Hospital where they were treated out of danger, with head injuries, while the 42-year-old was taken to the "Thriasio" Hospital where she will be visited by psychiatrists.
