The Albanian-American community and the Ukrainian-American community will hold a peaceful demonstration in front of the Russian Mission to the United Nations in New York, so at least the former VOA journalist has announced in his status Gjek Gjonlekaj.
He says the demonstration will take place in New York City, Manhattan, on Saturday, March 12, in the segment of the street "East 67 St." between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue, starting at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Ukrainian-American and Albanian-American diaspora are very concerned about the fate of the Ukrainian people who were barbarically attacked by Russian military forces, the call for the protest said, recalling that the entire Albanian nation is concerned about the Russian genocide in Ukraine.
"This tragedy reminds us of the Serbian genocide against the Albanian people during Kosovo's war for freedom. We Albanians in America have a moral obligation to support that people's struggle for freedom and democracy. On the other hand, we have special obligations to the United States for the salvation of Albania from the partition in 1919 and for the freedom and independence of Kosovo."
The status of the call for protest on Saturday (March 12) reads: "As can be seen, the United States has a key role to play in Ukraine's freedom and democracy. So the Albanian people in general and the Albanians of America, in particular, have obligations for the victory in this case of the western democratic world led by the United States."
The Ukrainian-American community for the freedom and democracy of Ukraine seems to have joined this protest with the Albanian community in the Tri-State area.
