Masses of dead chickens in the poultry farms of Durrës and Shijak are endangering the health of workers and the outbreak of an epidemic in humans.

For a week in this area have died over 300 thousand birds because of bird flu, for which representatives of poultry seek help.

"The situation has been stalled in a legal deadlock between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment. To our knowledge, the Emergency Headquarters has gathered and is trying to find a place to bury the carcasses", said the representative of a chicken coop.

The Ministry of Agriculture has not issued a written order but declares that it has destroyed all the dead chickens and calls on the country's chickens to report on the condition of their birds.

"All the birds are buried. Poultry tracking and testing continue. We call on all poultry and farmers, in case of suspicion of bird flu, should contact the National Veterinary Authority", said Ermira Gjeci.

The meat and egg market is functioning normally so far, but from Kosovo, there is a decision that temporarily stops the import of poultry.
