The Russian Embassy in Albania has reacted to the statement of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha about Gazprom.

In a post on social networks, the embassy writes: “We were surprised by Sali Berisha's words that 10 years ago he refused the bribe allegedly proposed by Gazprom for the development of energy projects in Albania. The question naturally arises: How much did Mr. Berisha ask that Gazprom could not collect those "fabulous sums?", Russian Embassy writes.

Berisha said the day before that he had been offered dizzying wealth by the Russian Gazprom for the TAP project, but that he stood in defense of the interests of his people.

"I tell George Soros's mafia that only for TAP, Sali Berisha was offered fabulous sums, but he stood in defense of the interests of his country and Europe, as I was convinced that a Russian gas pipe to Europe would be the "worst news for Europe and Albania", said Berisha.
